Your girl is BACK
The Coffee& a Weekly(ish) Newsletter is officially back! With an emphasis on the ish of course.
Let’s catch up
Saying the past seven months have been intense is most definitely an understatement. Putting the intense workload aside, my first-time teaching at a collegiate level experience has been so good (and living in the mountains hasn’t been so bad either). I work with great people, and it has been such a joy to connect with my students. I have however, learned way more about math than I ever wanted to.
That said, two critical things have been re-awoken:
My attitude of curiosity. That spirit got lost somewhere between grad school and starting this job and I'm glad to have it back. With that curiosity, I will be diving back into this space to explore thought-provoking topics so that, as always, you leave feeling encouraged and inspired.
My passion for encouraging women in STEM. I love when women support women, period-dot. As an engineer though, I’ve faced the most ridiculously, unnecessary challenges based on my gender (things we will most def spend some on). That means your girl gets extra excited to champion women pursuing or working within STEM.
With my re-found curiosity and passion, I will still overshare my brains out but will do so on topics that may resonate more deeply with women working within male dominated fields. That said, I want you in this space even if you aren’t a woman in STEM! Topics will range from imposter syndrome to gender bias to work-life choices - a vast range of topics that impact everyone - you’ll just be hearing them from the perspectives of women that just so happen to also be crushing it in STEM fields. It's going to be so fun!
Did you catch that? Yes! You’ll be hearing from more than just me! I'll be interviewing my badass lady friends doing great things in STEM via a podcast (it’s finally happening!). I am so glad you are here and cannot wait to share all the things with you!
Okay, but why does this newsletter look so different?
ICYMI, I’m sending you this email from a new platform called Substack. If you’re happy getting these emails straight to your inbox, you’ll continue to do so - no action required!
If you want to see (most of) my newsletters in one convenient location, you can visit my Substack here. Bonus: I’ve updated a lot of my old newsletters with pictures that you can’t get anywhere else, so you’ll definitely want to take a look!
If you rarely check your email and you would instead like to gain access to my newsletters in a more 2024 way, get the Substack app.
And last, if you know of someone that might love to get in on these newsletters, you can make my day and share it with them 🥰
Again, could not be more excited to be back and to have you here. Thank you for holding this space for me.
