All the feelings about wrinkles and softball games
It’s okay to get a little critical of ourselves, just recognize what make us great is not how ridiculously good looking we are
Life stuff (that you just can’t make up)
You know those moments where you look in the mirror and you see a new wrinkle in a weird spot on your face and think, “how is that wrinkle even possible?” And then you make a few faces to try to recreate the crease and YEP, that’s the one! And she. is. not. cute 👹 No? Just me? Well, that’s how my week started. Apparently, you can get a wrinkle on the bridge of your nose. Getting older is my FAVORITE.
I go through phases of immense self-love for my body and all of its imperfections that show a life well lived. And then I go through phases of immense WTF 🤣 Currently sitting in the latter. But honestly, I get more frustrated with my bad attitude toward my body and wrinkles than the actual imperfections themselves because logically, I know I’m awesome.
Friends, we put in the work. We go through hard things, we laugh our hearts out, we birth and/or raise humans (or we don’t!). It’s okay to get a little critical of ourselves sometimes so long as we come out on the other side recognizing that the things that make us great are most certainly not how ridiculously good looking we are 😉
What’s bringing me joy this week
Little League Softball World Series. Most of you know that I love softball 🥎 Currently, ESPN+ is featuring the World Series tournaments for little leagues and Niceville, FL made it for the Junior age group! And BONUS: our good friends’ daughter is on the team and it is just so freaking fun to watch. Also bringing me joy: her parents putting up with our constant text messages as we freak out during the games (we love you guys!) 😆 Am I crazy for leaving work early on several occasions and bribing my child with {insert anything you can think of} to be chill and watch with me? Maybe… but I have no regrets. And the semi-finals are TODAY with Niceville facing Connecticut, so tune in at 2pm PT!
